Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Ballwin, MO is seeking a Front Office Specialist to be the first point of contact and ensure a world class Total Patient Experience. This role handles essential administrative duties to create a smooth check-in/out for patients.

No specialized medical eye care experience is required; training is provided. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401k with company match, PTO/holidays, competitive base pay + bonus, paid maternity leave and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; previous optometry and/or ophthalmology experience strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Favorable result on background check as required by state
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support.
• Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave.
• Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times.
• Practice urgency at all times with consideration to the patient’s time, as well as doctor’s time and schedule.
• Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets.
• Check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures.
• Manage patient flow in the office and ensure communication to maximize efficiency and customer service.
• Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
• General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by the manager.
