Mau Marine of Okoboji is seeking a Front of House Manager to lead day-to-day restaurant operations, oversee servers and hosts, and ensure exceptional guest experiences at the Okoboji store.

OVERVIEW:

The Front of House Manager position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day front-of-house operations, resolve guest concerns effectively while reinforcing positive experiences to cultivate repeat patronage, and collaborate with hosts to manage customer flow, estimating wait times, and maintaining synchronization between front and back-of-house teams. The Front of House Manager must be professional, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold Mau Marine’s mission.

Okoboji Store Bar & Kitchen will make every dining experience easy, enjoyable, and memorable for our customers. We will do this through an exceptional team dedicated to outstanding hospitality, quality food and drinks, and setting the standard for lakeside guest service.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: General Manager

Key Internal Relationships: Kitchen Managers, FOH Managers, and Bar Managers

Direct Reports: Servers and Hosts

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

• Oversee day-to-day front-of-house operations; including assigning sections in which servers work, ensuring adequate staffing for the anticipated meal count, and adjusting staff levels when dining traffic is less than expected.
• Resolve guest concerns effectively while reinforcing positive experiences to cultivate repeat patronage. Regular table touches and attentive presence are crucial for our service standards.
• Collaborate with hosts to manage customer flow, estimating wait times, and maintaining synchronization between front and back-of-house teams.
• Administering training to all front of house staff; including servers, bussers, hosts, and food runners to ensure a level of service beyond the customers’ expectations.
• Uphold and enforce company policies, setting a standard for front-of-house conduct and service excellence.
• Participate in team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for improving service efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Management, Hospitality, or related field is preferred
• Prior experience in the restaurant industry, hospitality, customer service, or a related field is a plus
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Enthusiastic about providing exceptional customer service
