FOH SERVER / CASHIER
JOB DESCRIPTION
The FOH Server / Cashier may work as a Cashier, Expeditor, and/or Greeter. The role involves maintaining a high level of customer service, showing pride of ownership, and a sense of urgency to delight guests. The individual enthusiastically greets guests with a warm, genuine welcome and consistently adheres to high service standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating strong understanding of the menu, including recipes, allergens, dietary restrictions, and workarounds.
- Processing guest orders in person or by phone using the POS system, handling cash and credit/debit transactions accurately while maintaining proper register dialogue.
- Following all cash handling procedures, including fraud protection, and properly managing cash drawers.
- Presents food to guests, circulates the dining room for service opportunities, pre-busses, busses tables, and greets guests entering, waiting in line, or leaving the restaurant.
- Maintaining cleanliness of floors, buses, dishes, bathrooms, and windows.
- Processing guest orders at the register, pouring beverages, answering menu questions, and keeping the front area organized.
- Restocking the ice bin, drying and cleaning tumblers and glassware.
- Communicating regularly with guests and team members across stations (BOH and FOH) to ensure optimal service levels.
- Performing other tasks as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- Strong customer service skills and personality.
- Prior experience in a customer service or restaurant environment preferred.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality, with a positive attendance record.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with coworkers.
- Current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate.
Previous Experience
A minimum of 6 months experience as a Cashier in hospitality or retail is required; prior restaurant experience is preferred.
