Job summary

Soul & Smoke in Evanston is seeking friendly, reliable servers, hosts, bartenders, leads, and runners for a recently expanded venue with patio and private dining. Positions include part-time or full-time hourly roles with evenings and weekends required.

Staff enjoy meals and dining/catering discounts, plus accrued paid leave and sick leave. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk most shifts, and operate a handheld POS system.

Qualifications

About The Job

Looking for friendly, reliable, flexible, customer-service-minded servers, hosts, bartenders, leads, and runners/bussers for recently-expanded Evanston restaurant with patio and private dining. Full-time and part-time possible, evening and weekend availability is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, hospitable, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and co-workers at all times.
• Gain knowledge of all our products and services with the ability to answer questions accurately.
• Acknowledge and resolve any customer issues and complaints.
• Keep up with the side work, keep things clean and orderly.
• Communicate and coordinate with customers, kitchen, and colleagues effectively.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
• Provide customer and other feedback to the Soul & Smoke team.
• Specific tasks are role-dependent.

Requirements

• Ability to stay calm and respectful under stress, and if customers are upset.
• Able to walk/stand for most of the shift, and to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable using handheld POS system.
• Experience working with customer support.

Job Details

• JOB TYPE: Part-time or full-time, hourly positions.
• PAY: Starting at $16-20+ base per hour, with additional revenue share of $5-7+ per hour.
