Job summary

The Wonderful Company’ s La Cocina Shafter cafe is seeking a Front of House Associate to ensure a welcoming guest experience and prepare high-quality beverages. You’ll work Monday through Friday, with opening, midday, and closing shifts in a 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, including coffee techniques.
• Knowledge of café equipment operation and maintenance (espresso machines, grinders, brewers, refrigeration).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a positive attitude.
• Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills with customers and coworkers.
• Problem-solving ability and openness to direction.
• Conversational Spanish is desired but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a welcoming, positive attitude and create a inviting environment.
• Take and prepare coffee shop orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate registers and explain daily specials and events to customers.
• Prepare daily specialty drinks and manage ingredients and syrups.
• Assist with preparing fresh fruit for Grab-and-Go area.
• Support onsite and offsite catering events including prep, delivery, setup, service and tear down.
• Monitor inventory and restock FOH supplies.
• Follow food handling safety rules and maintain clean FOH areas.
• Report equipment issues and coordinate repairs with FOH Supervisor.
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and suggest menu improvements.
• Assist with tasks from Food Service Manager and FOH Supervisor to run operations smoothly.
• Perform food deliveries and pickups with company vehicle obeying policies and traffic laws.

Are you a people-person with a passion for great food and coffee? We are in search of a customer-focused, motivated, and organized Front of House Associate. This person is responsible for ensuring a welcoming guest experience and takes pride in delivering high-quality beverages and front-of-house service. The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday. Must be available to work flexible opening, mid-day, and closing shifts during operating hours of 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., based on business needs.

• Greets customers with a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude—always with a smile—creating a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits
• Takes and prepares coffee shop orders accurately and efficiently
• Operates registers and communicates clearly with customers about daily specials, updates, and upcoming events
• Prepares daily specialty drinks, including espresso beverages, in-house coffee syrups, freshly squeezed fruit juices and wellness shots while working in a safe and organized manner
• Assists with prepping fresh fruit for the Grab-and-Go area
• Plays a key role in supporting both onsite and offsite catering events including tracking, prep, delivery, setup, service, and tear down as needed
• Helps Front of House Supervisor track inventory and restock supplies for FOH operations
• Follows proper food handling techniques and physical safety rules
• Ensures all FOH equipment is properly functioning and identifies any repairs or maintenance needs, then reports to FOH Supervisor
• Assists with keeping all service and storage areas clean, sanitized, and well-organized
• Communicates customer feedback to managers and recommends new menu items or improvements
• Supports tasks assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Front of House Supervisor to successfully operate Wonderful La Cocina Restaurant
• Perform food deliveries and pickups as needed using a company-provided vehicle while adhering to company policies, safe driving practices, and all applicable traffic laws.

• A strong commitment to exceptional customer service and attention to detail

Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
