Job summary

City of Brooksville is seeking a skilled solid waste operator to collect and transport commercial waste using a large front-loader truck. You will plan routes, perform equipment checks, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

This full-time role includes on-site duties in Brooksville, Florida. The position starts at $21.54 per hour with benefits such as PTO, paid holidays, retirement plan, employer-paid health coverage, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License (Class B) and insurability.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Vision 20/40 in at least one eye; English communication.
• ADA accommodation available.

Responsibilities

• Operate large front-loader bulk-container truck safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily/weekly equipment checks and maintenance.
• Plan and update routes and schedules; adjust as needed.
• Report issues to management and coordinate service changes.
• Maintain records and data related to routes and equipment.
• Respond to complaints and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work a shift to meet workload demands and service levels.
• Operate other solid waste equipment when required.
