Responsibilities
The Front-End Web Developer/Web Designer will specialize in website design. Front End Developer duties include determining the structure and design of webpages, striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design, and ensuring web design is optimized for smartphones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate design wireframes into coding to create visual elements of a website.
- Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other programming languages to create user-friendly web pages.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure compatibility of websites across multiple browsers and devices.
- Develop and test user interface elements such as forms, navigations, dropdowns, etc.
- Ensure that websites are accessible and comply with web standards.
- Perform maintenance and updates to existing web applications.
- Collaborate with back-end developers to improve usability and troubleshoot issues.
- Use version control systems to keep track of code changes.
- Conduct website testing and debugging.
- Keep up to date with the latest web trends, techniques, and technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:
- Level 1: 1-3 years of experience in the field or related area. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines; primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
- Level 2: 4-7 years of experience in the field or related area. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
- Level 3: 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; independently performs a variety of complicated tasks; may lead and direct the work of others.
- Proven work experience as a Front-End Web developer.
- Hands‑on experience with markup languages.
- Familiarity with browser testing and debugging.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check; additional checks may be required.
- Proficiency in web markup: HTML5 and CSS3.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and related frameworks (AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS, etc.).
- Experience in responsive and adaptive design for mobile friendliness.
- Understanding of server‑side CSS pre‑processing platforms such as LESS and SASS.
- In‑depth understanding of the entire web development process.
- Understanding of SEO principles.
- Knowledge of performance testing frameworks including Mocha and Jest.
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and content management systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently or within a multi‑functional team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field.
- Experience handling cross‑browser compatibility issues and optimizing web applications.
- Knowledge in performance testing and front‑end optimization, user interface design, and usability testing.
- Understanding of designing aesthetic and functional digital environments for great user experience.
- Knowledge of design software like Adobe Suite.
- Leadership experience managing a team of developers or leading projects from conception to launch.

Working Conditions
- Professional Hybrid office environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX.
