Job summary

IDR, Inc. in Brentwood, TN seeks a Front End UI Architect to define and scale modern front-end architecture for a high-traffic digital commerce ecosystem.

You will lead multiple squads, set standards, and drive performance and UX improvements in close partnership with engineering, product, and UX teams. The role focuses on modern rendering (SSR/SSG/ISR), UI standards, and a robust design system with accessibility, SEO, and observability baked in.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in front-end/UI architecture or technical leadership.
• Deep hands-on experience with Next.js and modern rendering approaches (SSR, SSG, ISR, client/server).
• Strong knowledge of state/data management patterns (Redux Toolkit, React Query, Context API, GraphQL clients).

Responsibilities

• Define and govern scalable front-end architecture across multiple product teams.
• Lead modernization efforts using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Micro Frontend patterns.
• Establish UI standards, reusable component strategies, and design-system alignment (Storybook).
• Partner cross-functionally to embed accessibility, SEO, performance, and observability into solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance through reviews, documentation, and mentorship for senior engineers.

In this role, you’ll help define and scale modern front-end architecture for a high-traffic digital commerce ecosystem, partnering closely with engineering, product, and UX teams. Position Overview for the Front End UI Architect:

• Define and govern scalable front-end architecture across multiple digital product teams
• Lead modernization efforts using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Micro Frontend patterns
• Establish UI standards, reusable component strategies, and design-system alignment (e.g., Storybook)
• Partner cross-functionally to embed accessibility, SEO, performance, and observability into solutions
• Provide architectural guidance through reviews, documentation, and mentorship for senior engineers and team leads

Requirements for the Front End UI Architect:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in a front-end/UI architecture or technical leadership capacity
• Deep hands-on experience with Next.js and modern rendering approaches (SSR, SSG, ISR, and client/server rendering tradeoffs)
• Strong knowledge of state/data management patterns (e.g., Redux Toolkit, React Query, Context API, GraphQL clients)
• Proven ability to communicate architecture clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders using diagrams and decision documentation
