Job summary

Strategic Sight Consulting LLC is seeking a Front-End Software Developer to support modeling, simulation, HITL, and engineering environments for national security missions. You will build modern interfaces for configuring systems, visualizing data, and controlling simulations.

Experience with React/Angular/Vue, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, and CI/CD is required, along with a TS/SCI clearance and a track record of delivering production-quality front-end applications.

Join our team at Strategic Sight Consulting LLC for an opportunity as a Front-End Software Developer supporting modeling and simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HITL), and advanced engineering environments for critical national security missions. The selected individual will develop modern software interfaces that allow engineers and operators to configure systems, visualize complex data, control simulations, and interact with physical and simulated hardware.

Responsibilities and Background

• Design and implement user interfaces for engineering, simulation, and test applications.
• Work closely with modeling and simulation engineers, embedded developers, hardware engineers, and systems engineers to translate complex technical workflows into effective software solutions.
• Develop production-quality front-end applications using modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar technologies.
• Develop and maintain data-intensive interfaces, dashboards, visualization tools, and engineering applications.
• Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs, WebSockets, message-based interfaces, and other backend services.
• Develop software interfaces that interact with real-time data, simulation environments, and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
• Translate complex system and user requirements into intuitive and effective user interfaces.
• Support software development activities including version control, automated testing, code review, and continuous integration/continuous deployment processes.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• An additional 4 years of experience in software design and development.
• Experience developing production-quality front-end applications using modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar.
• Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs, WebSockets, message-based interfaces, or other backend services.
• Experience developing data-intensive interfaces, dashboards, visualization tools, or engineering applications.
• Familiarity with software development practices including Git, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD.
• Ability to work directly with engineers and technical users to translate complex system requirements into effective user interfaces.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting modeling and simulation (M&S) environments.
• Experience developing software for hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) or software-in-the-loop (SITL) systems.
• Experience visualizing or interacting with real-time telemetry, sensor data, system state, or simulation outputs.
• Familiarity with Python, C++, or other languages commonly used in engineering and simulation environments.
• Experience with 2D/3D visualization, geospatial interfaces, plotting, or scientific visualization libraries.
• Familiarity with simulation tools or frameworks such as MATLAB/Simulink, ROS/ROS 2, Unreal Engine, Unity, Gazebo, or similar.
• Experience integrating software with unmanned systems, robotics, embedded systems, test equipment, or physical hardware.
• Experience developing applications for aerospace, defense, autonomy, or other complex engineering environments.
