Job summary

Cornerstone Defense LLC in Annapolis Junction, MD seeks a Software Engineer 2 for UI/UX frontend. You will design and maintain modern front-end interfaces, visualize data, and ensure accessibility and security guidelines.

Responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing UI performance, collaborating with backend teams, and contributing to Agile design sessions. A TS/SCI w/ Poly is required.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of SWE experience in programs/contracts of similar scope is required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; four (4) years of additional SWE experience may substitute for a degree.
• Core skills include JavaScript/TypeScript, React/JSX, HTML5/CSS3/SASS, UI state management, data visualization, RESTful APIs, and testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern front-end UI components for mission applications.
• Implement new front-end features and optimize UI performance.
• Collaborate with backend developers and mission users to translate requirements into scalable UI solutions.
• Ensure UI meets security, accessibility, and usability standards.

• Description: The Software Engineer 2 will design, develop, and maintain modern front-end user interfaces for mission applications, creating responsive, intuitive UI/UX components that visualize data, support interactive workflows, and integrate cleanly with backend services. Responsibilities include implementing new front-end features, optimizing UI performance, resolving user-facing defects, conducting component-level testing, contributing to Agile design discussions, and ensuring UI solutions meet mission security, accessibility, and usability standards. The engineer will collaborate with backend developers and mission users to translate requirements into scalable UI components, apply approved design methodologies, integrate COTS/GOTS solutions when appropriate, and support documentation and test procedure development.
• Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
