Job summary

Joe V’s Smart Shop, a division of H-E-B, seeks an Exempt Department Manager to oversee department operations in Houston, TX, including Inventory Flow, Receiving and Shelf Edge. You will drive performance across multiple departments with a focus on efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Lead a diverse team, develop staff, and ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards while partnering with leadership to optimize scheduling, merchandising, and store-wide strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Operational/Retail Management experience in a supermarket or large-format retailer.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple departments.
• Strong understanding of inventory flow, shrink, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations including perishable and center store areas with emphasis in your area of expertise.
• Lead scheduling, staff development, and performance management to optimize store performance.
• Monitor financial and operational metrics; implement action plans to drive sales and efficiency.
• Ensure excellent customer service and adherence to safety and quality standards across all departments.
