Job summary

Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) in Garner, NC, a proud subsidiary of TT&E Iron & Metal, is hiring a physically active Heavy Equipment Operator to work in a fast-paced outdoor scrap yard environment.

You’ll operate front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, and a pay range of $17–$22 per hour depending on experience. This is a full-time 1st shift position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with heavy equipment
• Proven ability to operate front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers
• Comfortable with physically demanding work and outdoor conditions
• Reliable, safety-minded, and a true team player

Responsibilities

• Operate a large front-end loader to load scrap metal into trucks, railcars, and hoppers
• Perform daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and routine greasing/cleaning
• Communicate clearly with team members over two-way radio
• Work safely and effectively in a rugged outdoor industrial environment
