Job summary

Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) is seeking a heavy equipment operator to safely operate loaders, forklifts, and skid steers in our outdoor scrap yard. The role supports loading scrap metal into trucks, railcars, and hoppers, with a focus on safety and efficiency in a rugged setting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience with heavy machinery, are physically fit, and work well in a team. The position offers full-time hours with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large front-end loader to load scrap metal into trucks, railcars, and hoppers
• Experience with scale on bucket of loader is a plus
• Perform daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and routine greasing/cleaning
• Communicate clearly with team members over two-way radio
• Work safely and effectively in a rugged, outdoor industrial environment

Location: Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) - Garner, NCA.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Saturdays, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Pay: $17-$22/hour (based on experience)

Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) is hiring a physically active, hands-on Heavy Equipment Operator to work in a fast-paced, outdoor scrap yard environment. If you're experienced with heavy machinery and thrive in rough, industrial settings - this job is for you.

You'll operate a variety of equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a large front-end loader to load scrap metal into trucks, railcars, and hoppers
• Experience with scale on bucket of loader is a plus
• Perform daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and routine greasing/cleaning
