Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a FEED Land Use Engineer to lead early-phase land use and development due diligence. You will coordinate across business development, policy, product, and engineering teams to build a solid development basis for permitting and execution.

The role requires handling site surveys, environmental due diligence under NEPA, and entitlement planning with a focus on grid-scale battery energy storage site development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field with exceptional ability in land development, environmental, or civil disciplines.
  • Knowledge of NEPA, state environmental reviews, and federal permitting processes.
  • Familiarity with zoning, site plan reviews, variances, and grading/stormwater permits.

Responsibilities

  • Own scope, resources, and schedule for land use and development due diligence on early-phase projects.
  • Produce site-screening and constraints analysis from title, surveys, and jurisdictional info.
  • Manage surveys, geotechnical investigations, and hydrology studies and integrate findings into analyses.
  • Lead NEPA environmental due diligence and coordinate related regulatory reviews (EPA, Section 106, etc).
  • Drive local entitlements including zoning and permit matrices across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate utility service coordination and consultant teams; engage with agencies and communities.
  • Deliver feasibility studies and develop the Basis of Design package for handoff to design.
