Job summary

Ford is seeking a Front-End (UI) Lead Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable front-end applications and microfrontend architectures. You will mentor a team, collaborate with product managers and architects, and drive best practices across CI/CD, testing, and modern engineering approaches in a hybrid work setting.

The role emphasizes JavaScript, React, Next.js, and cloud-native integration, with desirable experience in AEM and GCP.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 8+ years of hands-on software engineering with front-end focus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed teams.
Strong cross-functional partner skills with product managers, architects, and engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead development and delivery of micro frontend modules for Ford’s eCommerce products.
Evaluate and modernize existing application architecture.
Design, develop, and optimize reusable front-end components with at least 80% code coverage.
Apply eCommerce platform engineering to scale capabilities.
Develop POCs using emerging tech and cloud-based solutions.
Improve delivery efficiency by reducing dependencies and increasing autonomy.
Use MACH architecture (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) for scalable front-end apps.
