Job summary

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a Front-End Developer / 508 Compliance Specialist to join our team in the United States. The role focuses on delivering accessible, compliant front-end interfaces and includes hands-on accessibility testing and remediation for WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional Agile team of software developers, systems engineers, and product owners to bake accessibility in by design and integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

Qualifications

• Front-end development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks; Vue preferred.
• Hands-on accessibility testing with screen readers (JAWS) and remediation.
• Strong knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA.
• Experience with semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and focus management.
• Proficiency with accessibility testing tools: axe DevTools, WAVE, Pa11y, Lighthouse.
• Experience with Git and Agile tools (Jira, Confluence).

Responsibilities

• Accessible front-end development of components and interfaces conforming to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA.
• Perform accessibility testing and remediation across the UI using assistive technologies.
• Audit and document accessibility findings; produce test reports as needed for compliance.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, and product owners to bake accessibility in by design.
• Integrate automated accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines (axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate accessibility tradeoffs to stakeholders.
