Job summary

Reflexive Concepts seeks a Front-End Developer / 508 Compliance Specialist in Maryland to build accessible UI components and ensure WCAG/Section 508 compliance. You will work with a cross-functional Agile team to design, test, and deliver compliant interfaces.

The role requires hands-on accessibility testing with JAWS and knowledge of ARIA, semantic HTML, and automated tools (axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse). Collaboration with UX/UI and DevOps is essential for by-design accessibility.

Qualifications

• Experience with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA compliance.
• Hands-on accessibility testing with screen readers (JAWS) and manual remediation.
• Proficiency in semantic HTML, accessible forms, keyboard navigation, and ARIA.
• Experience integrating accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with testing tools: axe DevTools, WAVE, Pa11y, Lighthouse.

Responsibilities

• Accessible Front-End Development: design, develop, and maintain interfaces conforming to Section 508 and WCAG AA standards.
• 508 Testing & Remediation: perform accessibility testing with JAWS and other screen readers, remediate issues.
• Audit & Documentation: conduct accessibility audits and produce test reports for compliance.
• Collaboration: partner with UX/UI, developers, and product owners to bake accessibility in by design.
• Integration & Delivery: work with QA/DevOps to integrate automated accessibility tests into CI/CD.
• Ceremonies: participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate accessibility requirements to stakeholders.
