Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL Front-End Driver to service local neighborhoods and commercial hubs. You will drive front-load trucks on assigned routes, operate front-end loaders, and help keep sites tidy while delivering top-notch customer service.

Safety is emphasized with daily inspections and DOT-compliant procedures. The role requires a valid CDL (Class A or B), 1+ year of trucking experience or a CDL training certificate, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• CDL license in good standing (Class A or B).
• At least 1 year of commercial truck driving experience or completion of an accredited CDL training program.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices and DOT safety standards.
• Comfort with entering/exiting the cab and lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Team-oriented with clear communication and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive front-load trucks along assigned routes servicing residential and commercial customers.
• Operate front-end loading equipment with precision and control.
• Keep customer sites clean by tidying surrounding areas during service.
• Provide courteous customer service and represent the company professionally.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete required logs.
• Navigate using GPS/maps and back up in tight spaces when needed.

What You’ll Do (The Day-to-Day)

As a CDL Front-End Driver, you’re the captain of an essential mission: keeping our local neighborhoods and commercial hubs clean, running smoothly, and looking great.

• Take the Wheel: Safely drive commercial front-load trucks along assigned routes to service multi-family residential and commercial customers.

• Master the Hydraulics: Operate front-end loading equipment with precision, lifting and dumping containers smoothly and safely.

• Keep It Clean: Ensure customer sites stay tidy by picking up any stray items around containers during servicing.

• Be the Face of Team Green: Intercept route questions with a friendly smile, providing courteous customer service to the community.

• Prioritize Safety: Perform thorough daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, complete logbooks/route sheets, and strictly adhere to company and DOT safety standards.

• Navigate like a Pro: Use GPS, key maps, and mirrors to skillfully maneuver tight clearance spaces and safely back up when needed.

What We’re Looking For

• License: A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) — Class A or Class B.

• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of commercial truck driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL driver training school.

• Safety First: Ability to demonstrate safe truck operation, maneuvers, and equipment handling. Must meet safety-sensitive job criteria.

• Physical Capability: Comfort with getting in and out of the cab throughout the day, maneuvering 3- to 4-yard containers on castors, and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs regularly (and up to 100 lbs occasionally).

• Positive Attitude: A team-first mindset, clear communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
