Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL-equipped driver in North Carolina to service commercial customers and multi-family communities on local routes, returning home daily.

You will handle front-load trucks, perform pre/post-trip inspections, log activities, and interact professionally with local businesses along your daily route, upholding safety standards and excellent service. Join a safety-conscious team committed to reliable service and community stewardship.

Qualifications

• CDL in good standing required.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial truck driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Ability to back up and maneuver heavy equipment in tight spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform pre/post-trip inspections.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial front-load vehicles on assigned local routes to service customers and multi-family communities.
• Use hydraulics to lift and dump 3–4 yard containers safely and efficiently.
• Interact professionally with local businesses and community members along the route.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs and productivity sheets.
• Navigate using maps and GPS to handle routes and tight clearances.

• Problem Solve On the Go: Use key maps and GPS to navigate tight clearances and maneuvering spaces like a pro.

What We’re Looking For

• Credentials: A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial truck driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school.
• Maneuvering Skills: Ability to safely back up and operate heavy equipment in tight or high-traffic areas.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, open corral gates, and perform physical pre/post-trip inspections.
• Great Attitude: A strong work ethic, safety-first mindset, and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
