Job summary

Food Lion in Roanoke Rapids, NC is seeking a friendly Front End Associate to deliver fast, accurate service at the checkout and throughout the store. You will greet customers, scan items, handle payments and keep the front end neat and inviting.

Success depends on excellent communication, reliability and teamwork as you support the Customer Service Manager and assist with To-Go orders and daily tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group cold items together for easy bagging.
• Scan customers' order and handle the payment transaction per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for cash handling and refunds.
• Maintain a neat and clean front end and assist customers with To-Go orders when applicable.
• Perform cashier duties when scheduled or as needed.
