Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly service and engage customers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Greet customers by name when possible.
• Avoid personal conversations with colleagues when customers are present.
• Handle store office tasks and cash variances using accounting packets.
• Know front-end procedures including cash reports, deposits, Western Union, money orders, Coinstar.
• Keep the front end clean and presentable.
• Understand register functions and front end accounting.
• Report register malfunctions promptly.
• Ensure MVP savings center KIOSK paper supply and operation.
• Assist as sales associate when scheduled or per surge plan.
• Help customer lead to maintain service standards.
• Stay alert and call for help when needed.
• Wear Food Lion uniform and name badge.
