Job summary

Kroger is seeking team members to deliver exceptional customer service at the checkout and throughout the store. You will greet customers, assist with questions, and process transactions accurately using the POS system while handling cash, cards, and loyalty offers in accordance with policy.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance with store guidelines, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate POS system and handle cash, cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and help control loss.
• Follow restrictions on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations.
• Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with questions.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced environments.
• Manage conflict constructively.
• Act with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Assist customers including minors and seniors.
