You will greet customers, assist at the register, and manage POS transactions with various tender types while following company policies and safety guidelines. The position supports a fast-paced environment, requires basic math skills, and prior bagger/courtesy clerk experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify departments or store manager of repairs needed.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome by answering product questions.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a constructive, non-confrontational manner.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support interacting with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
