Kroger is seeking a friendly, reliable bagger/courtesy clerk to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced store setting. You will assist customers, operate the checkout, and uphold store policies with accuracy and integrity.

The role emphasizes safety, loss prevention, and teamwork as you help customers feel valued and supported while navigating promotions and everyday purchases.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions at the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers and coupons as per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention standards.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Provide welcoming, helpful answers about products to customers.
