Job summary

VONS in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Front-End Team Member to provide a smooth checkout experience, scan items, bag groceries, and answer customer questions with a friendly, efficient approach.

You will keep the front end organized and running, rotate between tasks such as handling transactions, collecting carts, restocking, and maintaining the checkout area, thriving in a fast-paced, customer‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on local/state rules) to work.
• Completion of cashier/front-end training on hire.
• Basic math and communication skills required.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Prior customer service experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a smooth checkout experience by scanning items and assisting customers.
• Handle transactions, including cash, card, and digital payments.
• Keep the front end organized, restock, bag groceries and maintain checkout area.
• Balance attention to pricing, produce codes, and order completion.
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow in a fast-paced environment.
