Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Front-End Team Member in Burns, OR to support a smooth checkout experience and friendly customer service. You will handle transactions, assist customers, bag groceries, and rotate between duties to maintain an organized front end throughout shifts.

The role requires basic math, effective communication, and the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Prior customer service is welcomed but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Customer interaction skills with clear communication during checkout and assistance.
• Ability to process purchases accurately, including cash, card and digital payments.
• Attention to pricing, scanning, produce codes, and order completion.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, counting change and balancing registers.
• Organizational and time management skills for multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Store front maintenance including bagging, carts, stocking and upkeep.
• Problem awareness for pricing, transactions or customer questions.
• Operating procedures adherence to company policies and checkout processes.
• Adaptability to changing tasks and customer flow throughout shifts.
• Physical capability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, indoors and outdoors as needed.
