Job summary

Safeway in West Linn, Oregon is seeking a Front-End Team Member to provide a smooth checkout experience. You will scan items, bag groceries, assist customers, and keep the front-end area clean and organized throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include handling cash and various payments, restocking, and maintaining checkout efficiency in a fast-paced environment. A flexible schedule, basic math skills, and customer service orientation are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ per local/state requirements)
• Completion of cashier/front-end training
• Basic math and communication skills
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
• Prior customer service experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Scan items and process transactions at the checkout
• Bag groceries and assist with customer questions
• Keep front-end area clean, organized and stocked
• Rotate tasks: collect carts, stock supplies, maintain checkout area
• Handle various payment methods (cash, card, digital) accurately
• Adapt to changing customer flow and priorities throughout shift
