This part-time position requires standing for long periods, light lifting, and reliable weekend availability to serve shoppers effectively.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with locating products, answer inquiries, and inform about promotions or discounts
• Process customer purchases accurately with cash, credit/debit cards, or other methods
• Ensure correct change and reconcile cash drawer at shift start/end
• Count and reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift
• Promote store loyalty programs and discounts to encourage participation
• Bag and package purchases, assist with carrying bags or locating carts
• Resolve customer concerns or issues with a positive attitude
• Adhere to security measures and safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Job description

Position Overview:

As a Cashier you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting customers with locating products, answering inquiries, and providing information about promotions or discounts


• Accurately and efficiently process customer purchases with cash, credit/debit cards or other payment methods


• Ensuring correct change is provided if it is a cash transaction


• Counting and reconciling cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift


• Stay informed about products, prices and promotions to effectively assist customers and promote sales


• Promoting store loyalty programs, discounts and or special promotions to encourage customer participation


• Efficiently bag and package customer purchase, ensuring items are handled with care


• Offering assistance to customers with carrying their bags or locating carts


• Resolve customer concerns or issues related to the transaction with a positive and helpful attitude


• Adhering to security measures such as checking identification for age restricted purchase and monitoring for fraudulent activity


• Adhere to all company safety standards


• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Environment:

• Working in various environmental temperatures

Pay:

• $ 16.94 per hour

Schedule:

• Must be able to work mid-day shift and evenings; Weekends a MUST


• up to 25 hours a week on business needs

Experience:

• Preferred: Zero - One (0-1) year retail experience or relevant experience


• ServeSafe certification or comparable

Skills:

• Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
