Job summary

Adams Hometown Markets is seeking a cashier to handle customer transactions, provide excellent service, and assist with store duties. You will process payments, answer questions, and promote promotions while maintaining accuracy and a friendly attitude.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 80–85 lbs, and availability for weekend shifts in a team-based environment. Pay is $16.94 per hour with part-time hours up to 20 weekly.

Position Overview:

As a Cashier you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting customers with locating products, answering inquiries, and providing information about promotions or discounts
• Accurately and efficiently process customer purchases with cash, credit/debit cards or other payment methods
• Ensuring correct change is provided if it is a cash transaction
• Counting and reconciling cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift
• Stay informed about products, prices and promotions to effectively assist customers and promote sales
• Promoting store loyalty programs, discounts and or special promotions to encourage customer participation
• Efficiently bag and package customer purchase, ensuring items are handled with care
• Offering assistance to customers with carrying their bags or locating carts
• Resolve customer concerns or issues related to the transaction with a positive and helpful attitude
• Adhering to security measures such as checking identification for age restricted purchase and monitoring for fraudulent activity
• Adhere to all company safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
• Working in various environmental temperatures

Pay:

• $ 16.94 per hour

Schedule:

• 2:30pm-6:30pm, 4pm to 8pm.
• WEEKENDS A MUST
• UP TO 20 HOURS A WEEK

Experience:

• Preferred: Zero - One (0-1) year retail experience or relevant experience
• Serve Safe certification or comparable

Skills:

• Physical abilities : May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature-controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
