Job summary

Safeway in Klamath Falls is seeking a Front-End Team Member to create a smooth and positive checkout experience for customers. You’ll be the final stop before the customer heads home, helping complete purchases accurately while keeping interactions friendly and efficient.

You’ll rotate between tasks such as scanning items, bagging groceries, handling transactions, restocking, and keeping the checkout area organized.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 depending on local/state rules).
• Completion of cashier or front-end training upon hire.
• Basic math and clear communication skills required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Handle checkout transactions accurately and assist customers with questions.
• Bag groceries, scan items, and process payments (cash, card, digital).
• Keep the front-end area clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
• Assist with cart collection, stocking, and general front-end upkeep.
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow in a fast-paced environment.
