Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Happy Valley, Oregon is seeking a Customer Service / Cashier associate to assist customers and process sales while upholding Kroger's values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities include delivering friendly service at the service desk, performing cashier duties (opening/closing registers, handling tender transactions, refunds, money orders, and gift cards), keeping the checkout area clean, answering phones, and supporting store

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent education.
Six months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk.
Age requirement per state policy.
Ability to pass drug test.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts.
Accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Deliver and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
Perform cashier functions, including open/close register, ring sales, tender transactions, bag merchandise.
Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area.
Answer telephones and assist customers at the service desk.
Comply with all corporate policies and promote store initiatives.
Verify Electronic Article Surveillance tags are deactivated or removed at point of sale.
Respond to EAS pedestal activations and verify tag removal.
