Job summary

Kroger’s Fred Meyer in Oregon is seeking a friendly, dependable Customer Service Desk Associate to assist customers, process transactions and uphold our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. You’ll operate the checkstand, handle refunds and exchanges, maintain logs, answer phones, and support store operations in a fast-paced environment with weekend availability.

Qualifications

Minimum six months cashier experience at a Customer Service Desk.
Ability to pass drug test and work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work weekends and various shifts.

Responsibilities

Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
Perform cashier functions, including open/close register, ring sales, tender transactions, bag merchandise, and money drops.
Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to housekeeping standards.
Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies.
Promote and follow Kroger initiatives.
Verify EAS tags are deactivated or removed at point of sale; respond to pedestal activations as needed.
Open and close the Customer Service Desk and process refunds, exchanges, and gift cards.
Provide lottery service (where allowed) and assist with lost and found.
