Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented cashier to assist customers and process sales in our Wasilla, AK location. You will operate the register, handle transactions, and provide excellent service while maintaining a clean, organized checkstand area.

Responsibilities include refunds and exchanges, answering calls, and supporting store policies. Regular weekends and flexible hours are expected to meet customer needs; prior retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk
• Minimum 18 years of age/19 years in Idaho/19 years in Alaska if selling tobacco
• Ability to pass drug test
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work weekends regularly, shift flexibility and overtime as needed
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks
• Accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and process sales at the desk or checkout
• Provide friendly, efficient service and answer customer questions
• Maintain checkout area cleanliness and organization
• Handle refunds, exchanges, money orders and transfers
• Operate electronic checkout and manage tender transactions
• Promote company initiatives and policies
• Ensure item security and deactivation/removal of surveillance tags as needed
• Support store accounting tasks and daily deposits where required
