Job summary

Quality Food Centers in Seattle is seeking a customer-focused team member to assist customers and process sales. You will demonstrate the company values and handle cashier duties at the Customer Service Desk in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the desk, processing refunds, managing money orders, answering phones, and ensuring EAS tag procedures are followed. Weekend availability and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Six months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk
• Must be 18+ years old (19 in Idaho/Alaska for tobacco)
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work weekends, any shift, and overtime as needed
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks
• Accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage associates to provide excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, complete transactions, bag merchandise.
• Maintain price discrepancy logs and keep checkstand area clean.
• Answer telephones and process refunds, exchanges, money orders, and transfers.
• Follow corporate policies and promote company initiatives.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated at sale and respond to pedestal activations.
• Handle store accounting tasks and bank deposits.
• Provide lottery services (except Alaska) and fish/game licenses.
• Open/close Customer Service Desk and manage refunds and vouchers.
• Maintain lost and found; run vendor reports; support a cooperative, low-conflict work environment.
