Metropolitan Market is seeking a Checker to join the Front End team in Seattle. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, handling all cash and POS transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean, safe front end area.

You will also support food safety, quality control, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment. The role emphasizes professionalism, strong communication, and the ability to multitask while greeting customers and guiding them through purchases.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience in retail or service setting.
• Proven ability to handle cash, checks, debit/credit and EBT transactions accurately.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to multitask in a front-end environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP guidelines is preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse people and maintain a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and build customer rapport.
• Handle all cash and POS transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized front end area and ensure a safe shopping environment.
• Assist in food safety, sanitation, and quality control as required.
