Job summary

Jay C Stores is seeking a friendly, detail‑oriented team member to assist customers and process sales at the Customer Service Desk. You will handle cash transactions, maintain accuracy in pricing, and support day‑to‑day store operations with a focus on safety and integrity.

Responsibilities include ringing up sales, processing refunds, answering calls, and ensuring policies are followed. Flexibility for weekends and overtime is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Must be 18 years old (19 in some states) to sell tobacco.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work weekends, shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and assist associates.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, tender transactions.
• Maintain price discrepancies log and ensure product codes are correct.
• Keep checkstand area clean and organized to standards.
• Answer telephones and process refunds, exchanges, and payments.
• Follow corporate policies and participate in initiatives.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated and respond to pedestal activations.
• Support store accounting tasks and bank deposits when needed.
