Job summary

Crestline Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Front Desk Supervisor to oversee daily front desk operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, efficient check-in/check-out, and accurate guest accounting.

The role demands strong supervisory skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication with housekeeping, maintenance, and other hotel teams to deliver outstanding service. This on-site position is based in Portland, Maine, with an hourly pay range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience preferred, with at least 1 year front desk experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotels.
• Verify customers' credit and establish how the customer will pay.
• Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems.
• Make and confirm reservations.
• Issue room keys and escort instructions to bellhops.
• Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or using computers.
• Post charges, such as rooms, food, liquor, or calls, to ledgers manually or by using computers.
• Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
• Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary.
• Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services or travel directions, or make recommendations.
• Plan, schedule or supervise the work of other employees.
• Advise housekeeping staff when rooms are vacated and ready for cleaning.
• Assist guests with check-in/check-out and all special requests per SOPs.
• Assist in training new associates and maintain cashier training.
• Ensure all staff are familiar with hotel emergency procedures.
• Work with desk agents to balance at end of shift and complete shift checklist.
• Smile, greet guests, and resolve questions within empowerment guidelines.
