Do you love interacting with people? Are you a social person? If so, the Hyatt Place Jacksonville Airport has a position for you. We are currently looking for an energetic and outgoing person to join our guest team as a Front Desk Supervisor.

Overview

The Front Desk Supervisor supervises the operation of the front desk to maintain high productivity, employee morale, and guest service. Responsibilities include registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room keys or cards, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests' accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
  2. Verify customers' credit and establish payment methods.
  3. Coordinate with housekeeping or maintenance for guest-reported issues.
  4. Make and confirm reservations.
  5. Issue room keys and escort instructions to bellhops.
  6. Maintain records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or via computer.
  7. Post charges for rooms, food, liquor, or calls to ledgers.
  8. Compute bills, collect payments, and make change.
  9. Record guest comments or complaints and refer to managers as needed.
  10. Answer inquiries about hotel services, registration, and directions; offer local recommendations.
  11. Maintain lobby and common areas, restocking supplies and watering plants.
  12. Supervise and schedule staff work.
  13. Coordinate with housekeeping for room turnovers.
  14. Assist guests with check-in, check-out, and special requests following SOPs.
  15. Train new associates and ensure ongoing training of cashiers.
  16. Ensure staff familiarity with emergency procedures.
  17. Work with desk agents to balance shifts and complete checklists.
  18. Greet guests professionally and handle questions and issues within empowerment guidelines.
Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. 2-3 years of supervisory experience preferred, with at least 1 year at the front desk.
  3. Basic computer skills required.
