Job summary

Allied Universal in San Diego, CA is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide front desk security and guest handling at a commercial property. The role offers flexible hours with anchored shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

The position pays $20.00 per hour with a six‑month anchor shift commitment and opportunities to work across multiple sites. A background check and drug screen are required as part of employment.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security experience.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees at the front desk of a commercial real estate location.
• Greet visitors, verify identification and access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor records in accordance with site‑specific policies.
• Monitor entry activity, access control systems, cameras, and communication channels; report suspicious activity or security‑related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Support reception operations by directing visitors, answering phones, receiving deliveries, and communicating relevant information to building management and Allied Universal leadership.
