Job description

Join us to apply for the Front Desk Sales Associate role at Gold's Gyms Of The Carolinas.

Overview

The Front Desk Associate will greet and direct members, guests, and staff as they enter the gym, providing control of the front door area. This role includes assisting members with their requests, answering inquiries about gym operations and policies, and performing various administrative duties as directed by the Gym General Manager or Operations Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  1. Greet members and guests enthusiastically and promptly, using appropriate greetings for the time of day.
  2. Maintain security and control at the front door and retail area.
  3. Check members into the gym following proper procedures.
  4. Monitor check-ins for delinquent accounts and notify the Gym Operations Supervisor.
  5. Register guests properly upon entry.
  6. Direct guests and appointments to the appropriate fitness staff promptly and professionally.
  7. Answer phone calls professionally within three rings, using proper greeting techniques.
  8. Address caller requests or take messages, noting caller details.
  9. Record inquiries and transfer calls appropriately.
  10. Follow up on inquiries to ensure appointments are booked correctly.
  11. Respond promptly to member requests and concerns.
  12. Maintain a neat appearance and wear the correct uniform with a name tag while on duty.
  13. Distribute keys, towels, and other materials as needed.
  14. Process retail and concession sales.
  15. Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
  16. Perform gym walk-throughs as logged.
  17. Follow opening and closing procedures as per training manual.
  18. Log maintenance issues and report safety concerns.
  19. Notify management of incidents requiring reports.
  20. Adhere to scheduled work hours and attendance policies.
  21. Perform other duties such as light cleaning and tidying weights as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Effective communication skills with staff and members.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and cash handling procedures.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Ability to multitask and work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods.
