Insight Global is seeking multiple Front Desk Agents for a boutique property in New York City. This permanent, on-site role values dependable, professional staff who enjoy guest interactions and can work independently while staying active.
The role combines front desk operations with concierge support, basic maintenance tasks, and lobby monitoring. Expect a busy, guest-focused environment with flexible shifts and weekend availability.
Insight Global is seeking multiple Front Desk Agents to join the team at a boutique hospitality property in New York City. This is a permanent, on-site position for someone who is dependable, professional, technology-comfortable, and genuinely enjoys creating a positive guest experience.
This is not a traditional role where the Front Desk Agent remains behind the desk for the entire shift. The successful candidate will support front desk operations, provide concierge-style guest assistance, help with basic property and housekeeping needs, and monitor the lobby and common areas. The property operates with a lean team, so candidates must be comfortable working independently, staying active throughout their shift, and taking ownership of a variety of guest and operational needs. Formal hotel experience is preferred but not required. The most important factors are strong communication skills, professionalism, adaptability, and a natural ability to connect with guests.
The Front Desk Agent will serve as a primary point of contact for guests and help ensure the property operates smoothly throughout their assigned shift. Approximately 30% of the role will focus on front desk operations, 30% on guest services and concierge support, 30% on basic maintenance and housekeeping assistance, and 10% on property monitoring and safety support.
On a typical day, this individual will greet guests, assist with luggage, manage access-related requests, and provide recommendations for restaurants, entertainment, coffee shops, local attractions, and other experiences. They will respond to guest questions, resolve basic service issues, and communicate openly with guests and management.
The Front Desk Agent will also complete approximately three to four simple property-support tasks per shift. These may include cleaning a small spill, helping address a clogged drain, resetting a smart television, troubleshooting basic technology, or assisting the housekeeping and maintenance teams when necessary. Dedicated maintenance technicians and approved vendors are available for more complex issues.
Because the property generally operates with one Front Desk Agent on duty at a time, this person must be comfortable working independently, prioritizing multiple requests, and using sound judgement. The role also includes monitoring the lobby and common areas, addressing unauthorized access appropriately, and contacting management or emergency services when required. This is a hospitality position and is not intended to function as a dedicated security role.
The property operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Candidates must be open to working one of the following shifts:
Shifts include a 30-minute unpaid meal period where applicable.
Most team members will be assigned a primary shift, although flexibility may occasionally be required based on operational needs or emergencies. Full-time schedules are generally five days on and two days off. Weekend availability is required, and consistent Saturdays and Sundays off are generally unavailable. Some preferred shift arrangements may be considered for candidates who are open to split days off.
