Front Desk Receptionist Evenings (3p-11p)

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is a leading behavioral health facility providing inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents, adults, and seniors. Located on 22 acres within the DFW metroplex in Garland, Texas, we offer a serene environment aimed at empowering our patients. Our goal is to develop a fully integrated, effective behavioral health system.

Job Summary

The receptionist greets and directs visitors, manages incoming calls, delivers messages, distributes mail, provides clerical support, and assists Human Resources and Accounts Payable as directed by the Manager. The work schedule varies based on assigned shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate multi-line phone systems and communicate effectively with the public, staff, and residents.
  • Type at a minimum speed of 35 wpm.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel proficiently.
  • Track and distribute office supplies inventory.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems; operate office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and laminators.
  • Answer calls courteously, take messages, and direct calls appropriately, assessing urgency when necessary.
  • Greet visitors, ensure they sign confidentiality and log forms, and verify visitor authorization with charge nurses.
  • Notify staff of visitor arrivals and resident passes.
  • Provide general clerical support across the facility as needed.
  • Manage office supply inventory, organize storage, and assist with supply orders.
  • Cross-train with HR and Accounts Payable departments for administrative duties.
  • Follow safety practices and report hazards.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment, respecting cultural and privacy policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. No specific licenses required. Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting technical and regulatory documents. Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, problem-solving, and research skills. Basic math skills. Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.

Physical and Work Environment

Requires standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. May occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. The environment involves exposure to challenging behaviors and stressful situations, including inappropriate language and potential threats. Safety practices must be followed.
