Are you an outgoing person or possess the skill to turn it on if not innately? The Front Desk Receptionist/Asst will set the tone for incoming guests, jumpstarting their experience with us. There is also an internal customer base (the employees). Whether a guest is here for News, Indy Now, or Sales, the right person must be able to be intentional with their professionalism, energy, and business acumen, as these are key reasons we are the number one station in the market. WXIN/WTTV is the powerhouse, and we want guests leaving in agreement, as a positive first impression is seldom available for a repeat opportunity.

Job Description:
  1. Greet visitors, employees, contractors, and guests with professionalism and energy.
  2. Manage the logistics of guest and client arrivals, including managing people, entry security clearance, and the guest book.
  3. Answer incoming calls and take messages.
  4. Sort incoming mail and distribute it.
  5. Prepare outgoing packages and log incoming packages from carriers such as UPS and Federal Express.
  6. Assist with sales tasks, including order entry and confirming spots for clients.
  7. Retrieve logged information for the investigative unit as part of news-related duties.
  8. Perform other clerical duties to support daily station operations as assigned.
Position Requirements & Needed Skills:
  1. A degree in Business or comparable experience.
  2. Maintain 100% professionalism at all times.
  3. One year of experience in a high-volume setting, including lobby management, clerical, and/or administrative roles, preferably in Sales, Marketing, or Media.
  4. Energetic and assertive, with the ability to say "No" or "Wait" when applicable.
  5. Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  6. Fluency in English.
  7. Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  8. High level of professionalism, discernment, and organizational skills.
  9. Ability to multitask and work well with others, as this role is often the first impression.
  10. Adaptability to the fluid workplace environment, prioritization skills, and team-oriented attitude.
  11. Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
