Job summary

Alteration Specialists (Alts) is seeking a Front Desk Operations Representative for an in-person role at our Roslyn, NY studio. You will handle front desk duties, client check-ins, payments, and coordination with tailoring teams.

You will manage bookings, respond to calls and emails, support office administration, and help ensure smooth store operations and a positive customer experience. This is an entry-level to early-career role with growth potential.

Front Desk Operations Coordinator — New York, NY

Alteration Specialists (Alts) is looking for a Front Desk Operations Representative. This role involves responding to phone calls and emails, office management and administration, internal and external communication, and creative problem solving. This is a client-facing, in-person role at our Roslyn, NY location. The position can be full-time or part-time. We offer competitive pay, full benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

Front Desk – Office Management

  • Maintain a professional, warm, welcoming office environment
  • Greet all clients, manage check-ins, pickups and payments
  • Answer inbound calls to the Alteration Specialists Studio
  • Manage all client bookings and appointments
  • Process new transactions and ensure internal reporting is correct
  • Order, track, and manage office inventory, supplies, and purchases
  • Tag, distribute, and deliver outsourced garments as needed
  • Manage the flow of fitting room processes and appointments

Customer Service

  • Provide quick, warm, on-brand communication across emails, calls, and in-person interactions
  • Offer thoughtful and authentic recommendations based on customer needs
  • Engage with customers in a thoughtful, professional manner
  • Collect, organize, and track consumer feedback and day-to-day issues; report to the team
  • Contribute ideas to company policies to enhance the customer experience

Operations

  • Ensure QC checkpoints in front operations are met for each garment entering or leaving the studio
  • Ensure tickets are properly created and processed through the garment’s life cycle
  • Record and document all RFAs, refunds, and other process failures; propose solutions to improve operational efficiency

Experience

  • Experience in customer service roles is preferred
  • Prior experience in the fashion industry and communications management is desirable
  • Interest or experience in fashion and sustainability is desirable, with knowledge of garment construction
