Job description

Job Title: Night Auditor

Job Summary: Audits, balances, and reports on various hotel areas (e.g., food and beverage, rooms, front desk, gift shop) to provide accurate and timely financial information on the hotel’s operational performance for the day. Oversees front office operations during the overnight shift.

Job Duties:

  1. Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and compiles information for the hotel’s financial records.
  2. Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics.
  3. Prepares summaries of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel’s financial performance for the day.
  4. Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts. Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.
  5. Verifies all account postings and balances.
  6. Summarizes operational results and prepares reports for management.
  7. Performs duties of the Front Desk Agent.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Accounting background preferred.
  3. Previous hotel experience desired.
  4. Strong customer service skills and orientation.
  5. Professional appearance and good communication skills with guests and staff.
  6. Ability to operate front office equipment and computers.
  7. Ability to compile facts and figures.
  8. Understanding of auditing, balancing, and closing accounts principles.
  9. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
