Job summary

AdventHealth Mansfield is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our care team in Mansfield, Texas. You will provide direct patient care, perform intake, screenings and basic clinical procedures, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, documenting results, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources.
• Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems.
• Ability to function in stressful, fast-paced environments and apply stress management techniques.
• Ability to work independently within certification scope.

• Clear written and spoken English; able to use computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
• Maintains education requirements and demonstrates competency through annual clinical assessments.
• Prepares patients and equipment for treatment and documents results in the practice system.
• Ensures OSHA compliance and safety policies are followed.
• Provides comprehensive care during office visits, including intake, tests, and medications.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information.
• Supports staff teamwork and assists patients, visitors and co-workers.
• Performs clinical intake including history taking, vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Assists with minor procedures and documents results accurately.
• Educates patients on tests, medications and diet with clear instructions.
• Monitors inventory and maintains equipment and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
