Responsibilities

- Assist guests with check‑in and check‑out processes, including verifying registration, address and credit information, balancing bank, and posting charges.
- Go above and beyond to provide assistance (e.g., assist with luggage, coffee, directions, wake‑up calls, future reservations).
- Provide information to guests and visitors, coordinate guest requests for special arrangements of services, and courteously inform guests of hotel services, features and room amenities.
- Answer hotel telephone calls courteously and efficiently following Hyatt Place standards.
- Prepare, set up, stock, take down, clean and provide quality beverages and food products consistently, adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
- Be familiar and knowledgeable with the operation of the POS system and safe food handling knowledge.
- Assist guests with food orders and serve food and beverage items in a friendly, professional, and timely manner; use suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized environment for guests by clearing tables during service; prepare all food items according to recipe cards and correct handling procedures; maintain the highest quality and appearance of all foods sent from the kitchen and ensure plates are clean and appetizing; wear gloves and hairnet.
- Maintain proper production levels according to estimates on the production sheets; ensure timely product freshness.
- Use leftovers and maintain proper storage on the hot food side; label and date all food (date should be 7 days from opening date); use waste log when disposing spoiled products.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of all areas of the dish room, kitchen aisle, dock area, and use machines properly.
- Break down trays, set up dish machine, wash dishware, sort, and store all clean china, glass, and silverware using proper procedures.
- Empty trashcans and wash inside and outside.
- Thoroughly clean dock area and dumpster.
- Assist with the set‑up of meeting rooms and delivery of food for meeting group requests.
- Clean up and pick dirty dishware from meeting rooms.
- Clean all break‑down tables, tile walls, and baseboards.
- Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Prepare all necessary items for the next day, including bread products, meat, and anything requiring thaw‑out time; also prepare breakfast sandwiches for the next day (weekday only unless directed by a supervisor/manager).
- Receive food and supplies delivery, inspect against invoice slip, reject expired/damaged/spoiled items, rotate inventory (old to front, new to back), and put away items in a timely fashion.
- On Sundays, prep/cook specified meal for associates; deliver to employee break room, check periodically and replenish if necessary.
- Check for a BEO (Banquet Event Order) daily to see if any food/beverage service is required for a meeting/group; prep items and assist in set‑up and delivery.
- Follow Hyatt Place operational policies and procedures, including cash and credit card handling, safety and security, and all other policies to consistently exceed the guests’ expectations.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience is required, preferably in a hotel or related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Requires strong command of the English language (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast‑paced position with constant guest interaction.
- Must be able to multi‑task and work under pressure.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight (minimum of 20 lbs).
- Must possess basic computer skills, i.e., Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be a team player.
