Job summary

Eagleville Hospital is seeking an Admissions professional to facilitate new admissions by reviewing referrals and responding to inquiries. This role reports to the Shift Supervisor and involves initial screening and level of care assessment for patients seeking admission.

Responsibilities include coordinating with nursing and medical leadership, handling insurance verification, and ensuring pre-authorization and funding are in place. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3 years of Admissions experience required.
• Experience in managed care pre-certification and utilization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate review process of potential admissions and referrals.
• Maintain tracking system of referrals.
• Respond to phone calls and inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Provide initial screening and level of care assessment for patients calling to be admitted.
• Facilitate insurance verification process and secure appropriate funding.
• Create Authorization Tracking Forms for accepted patients.
• Collaborate with Nursing, Medical or Psychiatric leaders to ensure appropriate recommendations.
• Coordinate admission and transfer from referral sources.
• Maintain knowledge of milieu management.
• Assist with new admission arrival procedures such as searches and UDS as needed.
• Communicate projected admissions to designated internal representatives promptly.
• Assist the Nursing leaders with ensuring information from referral sources or patient information is received prior to admission.
• Complete pre-authorization for treatment and admission prior to admission, when possible.
• Serve as a community liaison and maintain partnerships with referral sources.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers.
• Respect patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This position reports to Shift Supervisor. Admissions professional responsible for facilitating new admissions by reviewing referrals and responding to facility inquiries.

Objectives / Responsibilities

• Facilitate review process of potential admissions and referrals.
• Maintain tracking system of referrals.
• Respond to phone calls and inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Provide initial screening and level of care assessment for patients calling to be admitted.
• Facilitate insurance verification process and secure appropriate funding. Perform benefit eligibility to ensure patient benefits are active at the time of admission. Creating Authorization Tracking Forms for accepted patients.
• Collaborate with the Nursing, Medical or Psychiatric department leaders to ensure appropriate recommendations regarding pending referrals.
• Coordinate admission and transfer from referral sources.
• Maintain knowledge of milieu management.
• Assist with new admission arrival procedures such as searches and UDS as needed.
• Communicate projected admissions to designated internal representatives promptly.
• Assist the Nursing leaders with ensuring information from referral sources or patient (including medical comorbidity information) is received, when possible, prior to patient admission.
• Complete pre-authorization for treatment and admission prior to admission, when possible, and within payor timeframe guidelines.
• Serve as a community liaison and maintain partnerships with referral sources within the community.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
• Respect patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

HS diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred. 3 years of Admission's Experience required for 3 years.

Qualifications

Preferably, work experience would include some prior experience in the field of substance use disorders and mental health treatment. Experience in managed care pre-certification process and utilization preferred.

Physical Requirements

Will be required to move between buildings to bring admissions to the units.

Assist in moving patient belongings which may include lifting or pushing a cart.
