SUMMARY: The individual in this position is primarily responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service to all who interact with EmBe. In this role, the front desk will be the first person that staff, clients, families, and visitors see as they enter our facilities, so it is essential to create a welcoming first impression in a friendly, clean atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following
- Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
- Develop relationships and learn names of childcare children, aquatics members, and EmBe staff to be able to address on a more personal level.
- Warmly greet all persons entering/leaving the building.
- Responsible for coordinating information, communications, and administrative procedures for the front desk.
- Conduct sale and receipt procedures for aquatic day passes, memberships, swim lessons, etc.
- Maintain building awareness and security. Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Be knowledgeable in basic childcare operations and informed on where classes and management are at throughout shift.
- Verify authorized pick-ups for childcare and assist to classroom.
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls and questions.
- Learn and explain EmBe programs, policies, and procedures.
- Receive customer/client comments and direct them to the appropriate staff person.
- Register customers and clients for programs and process memberships according to procedure.
- Assist in prepping materials for other departments and programs.
- Set up and tear down gym and other spaces for rentals and EmBe programs including volleyball.
- Filing, maintenance of supplies and forms, and general office management.
- Complete aquatics towel and childcare laundering within shift.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or Associates degree preferred
- Knowledge and experience with multi-line phone system
- Excellent oral and written communications, teamwork skills
- Previous customer service experience preferred. Person must be warm but assertive when needed, and demonstrate energetic personality.
- Must have a willingness and desire to work with children and adults of all ages and backgrounds, and have a commitment to the values of the EmBe mission statement.
- Self-motivated team player, with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and handle stress during busy work times.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- A background check is a condition of employment.
