Medical Center Ophthalmology Associates, located in San Antonio, Texas, offers compassionate care for every eye condition. Board-certified physicians provide comprehensive eye care, and their team is dedicated to helping you see better.

The Front Desk Associate provides exceptional patient service, both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities include interviewing patients to obtain demographic, financial, and insurance information necessary for billing, performing clerical duties, managing patient communication, scheduling appointments, processing medical records requests, and accepting patient payments.

Responsibilities include:
  • Displaying high professionalism and delivering excellent customer service
  • Obtaining and reviewing patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy
  • Verifying insurance and collecting copays, co-insurance, and outstanding balances
  • Ensuring all patient intake forms are signed and complete
  • Handling communication via multiple phone lines, messaging portals, email, and fax
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Processing medical record requests
  • Coordinating with clinical staff to ensure a positive patient experience
Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare insurance experience
  • Strong computer skills with at least 30 WPM typing speed
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Dependability and organizational skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to learn quickly, problem-solve, and work independently
